What do you need for driving lessons?
Provisional licence.
You must have a provisional driving licence that is both current and valid. You cannot start your lessons without a provisional licence.
You must be 17.
Under 17’s may drive off road but not on the public hgighway
Good eyesight.
Your eyesight will be tested on your first lesson. You must be able to read a number plate 20 metres away. If you need to wear glasses to read the number plate then you must always wear them when driving.
Comfortable clothing
Clothing that constricts you or stops you from freely being able to use the controls of the car should be avoided. Wear sensible shoes with a flat heel and a thin sole so that you can feel the amount of pressure you are putting on the pedals.
